Mountains in Abkhazia with piercing rivers piercing them are unusually beautiful. The beginning of the river is taken in the glaciers of the Caucasus Mountains, so in the hottest weather they bear an amazing coolness. As for the highland lakes, which are more than 180, the glory of their pristine beauty spread far beyond the borders of Abkhazia. And, of course, the biggest legend of the Caucasus is Lake Ritsa. Once the beauty of the lake was accessible only to a small number of tourists, until a road was built here in 1936. Today, thousands of tourists coming here, consider the lake a magnificent creature of nature.
The lake and its surroundings are both aesthetically pleasing to the eye and practically useful: there are many mineral springs here, the quality of one of the sources, Awadhara, can be compared only with the Georgian Borjomi and the French Vichy.
Excursion to Lake Ritsa, located at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level, will allow you to admire the truly amazing pristine creations of nature. The road to Lake Riza goes through a picturesque mountain canyon along the beautiful stormy river Bzyb, past the gleaming sapphire of the Blue Lake, past the almost fabulous waterfalls. On the territory of the observation platforms of the lake you will taste a shish kebab with a glass of Isabella.
Above Lake Ritsa, at an altitude of 1700 meters, you will see the Avadhara mineral spring, which holds huge
reserves of healing water.
